Great Lakes Lacquer is launching four Limited Edition Polishes on Saturday, October 29 at 9PM EDT for a pre-order running through November 12 at 9PM EDT. These originally launched at the Polish and Beauty Expo in Tinley Park, Illinois, but are coming back as reformulations. If you already have the originals, you might check if these are different enough to re-buy or not. Each polish is priced at $13.50 individually or $50 for all four. Let’s have a look!
Great Lakes Lacquer But What is Grief If Not Love Preserving is a deep plum purple with red-orange-gold multichrome iridescent large-particle shimmer and linear and scattered holo shimmer. I wore it in three thin coats, but two will cover. It dries quickly and has a good formula. This one is simply spectacular and has a lovely contrast between the cool base and warm shimmer. The holo has a sort of blue flash.
Great Lakes Lacquer Michigan Summer Sunsets is a cool lavender with aqua-blue-magenta-gold multichrome iridescent large-particle shimmer. I wore it in three thin coats but two will cover. This dries quickly and needs top coat to smooth and shine. This dries with some thickness due to the shimmer content but is not thick in formula.
Great Lakes Lacquer Ruins in the Sky (Thanks for the Lessons) is a pale orchid with red-orange-gold multichrome iridescent shimmer and holo shimmer. I wore it in three thin coats, but two will cover. It had a great, quick-drying formula.
Great Lakes Lacquer The Jade Dragon is a jade green jelly with green-blue-purple pink multichrome iridescent flakes and shimmer and scattered holo shimmer. I wore it in four thin coats, but two or three will cover. It has a good, fast-drying formula and needs top coat for smoothness and shine.
Now for live swatches!
The Great Lakes Lacquer October 2022 Limited Edition Polishes are available for pre-order from Saturday, October 29 at 9PM EDT through November 12 at 9PM EDT. Each polish is priced at $13.50 individually or $50 for all four. My must-have from the collection is definitely But What is Grief If Not Love Preservering, because I love rich shades with contrast shimmers. My next favorite would be Great Lakes Lacquer Ruins in the Sky (Thanks for the Lessons), which I wore for five days last week when traveling to assist relatives. Do you have a favorite pick?
